I can’t bring myself to regard someone with disgust just because that person has halitosis,

long, brittle nails,

hair broken all over or thick and smelly with oil,

very dry or cracked skin,

wears layers of tattered clothes

and foul-smelling shoes.

Maybe that person has experienced years-long abuse.

Some people don’t have any access to shampoo

and conditioner. Some people don’t have a place to go and rest.

Consistent lack of sleep can age anyone a lot of years.

A lot of people go days or longer without anyone acknowledging them.

This can definitely cause these people to not care if their appearance offended people;

they likely think, “Why bother? I don’t know anyone and no one sees me.”

I don’t blame those who don’t wear nice clothes and have given up on maintaining personal hygiene long ago.

I am reluctant to call any of these people ‘ugly’.

I understand why people are drawn to those wearing stylish clothes and do

their hair and faces up well. I like looking cute and childish and feeling clean.
