A Wart and Anti-Fungal Medication
I understand that the human body suffers from a wide array of ailments.
I remember an old man who was embarrassed to reveal that he had a wart somewhere on his face when I was still employed at Walgreens (I am not easily fazed or overwhelmed by anything. I have seen so much bad in my life that I don’t easily flinch when I see how someone is affected by their sickness. Instead, when I see someone so sick that it hurts, it makes me feel sad).
It has stayed with me because I wish people could perceive me as someone to trust.
Because I look so young, I don’t blame anyone for misjudging me as someone who would be frightened by or even grossed out by how their body may react or recover from an illness or disease.
I still remember a time when I showed a lady where to find anti-fungal medication for her feet/nails. The thing that I felt was hope that that lady was going to get well (the picture of those toenails on that packaging only made me feel horrible about the possible pain).
Working at Walgreens had me spend more time to peruse the myriad of products there are to treat people.
I had known that there are a lot more diseases that inflict people than I could imagine or think of, and the Walgreens shelves used to teach me about various ailments in more clear…
