About a Girl I Decided to Help

This has probably been said before many times but I would like to say it myself:

Respect those who go out of their way to help you.

There was a girl who contacted me two days ago asking me if I could help her find work because she wasn’t currently studying nor working and she was running out of money. She lived in a government-funded dormitory in order to stretch whatever money she had.

I spent an hour with her one day listening to her explain her plight and I told her that I was happy to help and that I knew someone to connect her with regarding work opportunities. I gave her his number and I messaged my friend about the girl’s situation. I also let the girl know that my friend knew of her situation and she could feel free to request his aid.

My friend is a young man who has taken initiative to start his own business providing Istanbul’s bakeries with baklava, cakes and other desserts having partnered up with a group of his friends to make it happen. He gets up in the wee hours to make sure that bakery orders are filled. During Ramadan, he and his employees worked around the clock in order to ensure that everything was baked and ready for delivery. He’s presently balancing the pursuit of a second degree and maintaining his business which (like most business owners) he plans on expanding.

I convinced my friend to assist the girl who contacted me in finding work and, because I’ve known him for two years and he feels close to me, he decided to help. I made…
