Alone in the US

I wonder a lot what may happen to me in the US after coming home from my deeply involved expat experience in Istanbul, which has a culture very different from that of the US.

I feel that I’ll be alone in the US.

No one knows the same streets that I’ve walked on in Istanbul. I feel that everything I say about Istanbul will be seen as irrelevant in the US which would feel like what I’ve experienced is also irrelevant (which isn’t nice to think about). No one knows what I talk about when I say that people don’t live well in the economic situation they live in. My feelings aren’t unattached from the people…
