Come to Love

Why do we tend to look down on people who don’t work?

There are some people who don’t work to earn any money but they bake delicious cupcakes that I have come to love.

There are those who don’t work but they make me laugh, or they make me feel safe. Their presence helps me sleep soundly and easily at night.

Some people in my life don’t work but I like taking walks with them.

I care whether or not I have time to sit with them and enjoy bad shows.

Some people have mental health issues that keep them from working.

There are some who think that they just can’t work.

There are many who think that they can do something but their belief that others don’t see that, or won’t give them a chance, keeps them from starting anything.

I suspect that there are many who don’t want work to restrict them from doing what they want.

Maybe some really want a lot of time to do what they really want to do. A few hours of working is already too much for them to accept.

I don’t want to look down on those who don’t work or who don’t work more than 30 hours a week.

None of us can ever know every aspect of someone.
