Every Man Has Had Things Go Wrong in Their Lives

I have thought about this morning how women who choose to stay at home to care for their homes and children full-time are brave because they have trusted their spouses 100% to provide for the family.

Since early childhood, for some reason, I didn’t feel that I could ever depend on a spouse to provide for any possible family that I may have. Maybe there was something about my upbringing, or maybe there were just people that I encountered along the way that got me to firmly believe that I could never trust anyone to help me. At least, never 100% percent; not 90% or 80% or 70%.

I have met men who said that they expected their wives to stay at home.

Why?

I have never understood those women who would completely trust their spouses to control everything financially. I also don’t really understand how some of these women, when they are told, ‘You shouldn’t work anymore’, cease working.

I have never perceived men as particularly more capable than women.

Growing up, I have never had faith that men can adequately provide for their families.

A lot of men work low-wage jobs, so why do some of these men still insist that their wives stay home?
