Lost Ones In Every Generation

In every generation, there are people who have had many sex partners,

who have refused to or can’t work for years,

who have bullied or gossiped or abused others,

who taken their frustration and anger out on strangers,

run away from home, tried to drink away their problems,

taken drugs to temporarily escape from their troubles,

abandoned their spouses and children,

traveled spontaneously on trains or in cars.

The number of people in the world varies every less than a millisecond;

and there is also a large population on this Earth at any given time.

There has not been a single day that many kidnappings, murders

and domestic violence cases have taken place for centuries.

I always hear about the younger generations being ‘more selfish’

and ‘lazier’ than past generations and I don’t believe this claim

because there are so many people in every generation

and each one has seen its share of drifters, homeless people,

high school and college dropouts, convicted felons, innocent people
