More Than a Sturdy Body
I work a bit every day.
I get up early every morning to exercise.
A neighbor told my father once, “I see your daughter every morning. She walks with a lot of power”.
Power.
Since I was a teenager, I have walked fast. It’s always been something that I naturally do.
How is anyone to take me seriously if I didn’t have a strong body?
I have been reading since I taught myself to read at age 5.
I tend to think: ‘How is anyone to take me seriously if I didn’t read more?’
I insist on knowing more about all the ways that people think and what they may think about so as not to get taken advantage of.
Since early childhood, from what I’ve observed around me, I have always known about broken promises, wailing screams, disappointment, anguish, stories of theft and abuse on the vulnerable.
My neighbor is not the only one who’s ever said that I walked with determination and power.
All the way back in university, I had the reputation of walking and walking some more and going to the gym.
I’m not thin but that’s not necessarily my goal. My intention is to be fit, healthy and make it tougher for anyone to try to take me down, or even take my…
