“Nobody Pities You When You Get Hurt”
At a Chinese supermarket, a manager
yelled at an employee to cut and pack up
dragon-eye fruit faster. That weekend, there was a ten
dollars for three pounds of dragon-eye fruit
sale and, at that moment, bags of dragon-eye fruit were examined and pressed to check their firmness far quicker than the employee could snip stems and pack.
Feeling overwhelmed by the customers gathering and anxious from the manager’s reprimand, the employee cut his index finger with the heavy-duty scissors and a large amount of blood was seen.
It was not even 8:30AM yet. The employee had to find a way to keep his finger from bleeding and pick up the speed at which he cut dragon-eye fruit stems and packaged them.
The supermarket closed at 8PM.
Some customers saw the blood and were turned off and walked away, telling other customers that there was a lot of blood around the dragon-eye fruit.
The employee was scolded for being a slow worker and being a fool for cutting himself when told to work just a little bit more quickly.
Nobody showed any concern.
