We Can Do a Puzzle

To be honest, I think that one’s spouse would be the only friend that one needs and wants.

Maybe I’m being the foolish dreamer again, but I thought that once one found their one and only, one wouldn’t feel inclined to want to know about anyone else. No new friends. No new acquaintances. I would think that when one finds The One, then that would be it.

Every dinner shared, every conversation made, every activity done would be one fabulous memory after another, after another, after another.

Savoring a bowl of ginger ice cream with that other person, browsing wines with that other person, taking a long walk along a river with that other person, investigating a plant sale at someone’s house with that other person, just going on a drive and looking out at the scenery on the way to no particular where with that other person…

Running away from a goose with that other person,

noticing free books and furniture on the side of a road with that other person,

getting almost blown away by a strong wind with that other person,

nearly tripping over a tree branch or log with that other person,

trying a free yogurt sample at a supermarket (and free samples of potstickers, candy, juice…etc.) with that other person,
