Who is Living Your Life?

While scrolling on Instagram one afternoon,

I saw the following:

‘Who is living your life?

Are you thinking for yourself

or are you projecting acquired ideas

which may be all wrong?’

I have trouble living my own life. I am tightly tethered to familial expectations. I always feel like people watch my every move when I go out and about. I immediately think that people criticize me and I let this thought seep into my flesh and remain.

I don’t know how to set myself free.

Is there anyone out there who has really set themselves completely free? Or is it that, more often than not, one’s responsibility to family members and other relatives and friends keep them from really thinking for themselves? And keep them from living how they truly want?

To what extent do we live for ourselves and sacrifice ourselves for others? What is that balance for each of us?

Have a wonderful day.
